We are the Monte Pio Kids,
Yes, we are the Monte Pio Kids,
We grew up together,
Through fine and stormy weather,
Yes, we are the Monte Pio kids.
It was back in the times when things were tough,
When you lost your Mum or Dad or maybe both,
The Sisters of Mercy were there to lend a hand,
They opened up the door and in we came,
Yes, we are the Monte Pio kids.
Then they opened up their hearts to give us love,
They clothed, cared and fed us as their own,
A school for us to learn,
A home to call our own,
Yes, we are the Monte Pio kids.
There were many fam-ilies of two or three,
Or even maybe more as you can see,
But one thing rest assured,
We were not too bad at all,
Yes, we are the Monte Pio kids.
We are grown up now with children of our own,
And understand the reasons that unfold,
We were not there for being bad,
Each and every case was quite sad,

We were proud to be at Monte,
YES WE WERE,
A place we all once called home,
